8th International Marble, Natural Stone Products & Technologies Fair
held between 27th and 30th October, 2011 drew intense attention from the
industry. Participants of the fair in the organization known as export fair
doubled their work volumes via hot contact with buyer groups. EUROROC European&
International Federation of Natural Stone Industries’ executives visited the
fair with a total of 29.550 visitors; 4.264 of which are foreigners. Export
target of the industry for the year 2023 was defined as 7 billion dollars by TİM
(Turkish Exporters Assembly) at Natural Stone Fair with participation of 926
companies.
The industry with national and international companies came together in Turkey
holding one third of global natural stone reserves. The organization focusing on
its target of becoming the biggest and the most significant fair in the global
arena, was held by CNR Holding, CNR Ekspo Trade Fairs, with sponsorship of T.R.
Ministry of Economy, İMMİB (Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters’ Association)
and KOSGEB (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization). Growing by
40%, Natural Stone Fair was held in a space of 80 thousand square meters
including block display field. The organization was remarkable with richness of
buyer committees and the work volume.
EUROROC executives, which held its general assembly in Istanbul for the first
time with participation of 46 delegates from 16 countries, were also impressed
by the Natural Stone Fair. “The new capital of natural stone is Istanbul” said
Federation President Stefano Ghirardi.
Praises
for the fair and Istanbul!
Afghanistan, America, UAE, Belgium, Brazil, China, Georgia, India, England,
Iran, Spain, Italy, Pakistan and Greece were the countries participating in the
fair. The companies from these countries attending this fair praised this giant
organization. Executives of Italian marble giant Antolini Luigi&C.S.p.A with
offices in Brazil, China and India stated that Turkish market value in marble
and natural stone grew 6 times in the last two years. The fair participant
companies from Greece told that they held serious talks with the buyers from
Australia, Lebanon, Ukraine, South Africa and UAE. Skaris company executives
stated that Turkey gives confidence with its stability and position; adding that
they received great attention at Natural Stone Fair at their first time of
participation. The companies participating in the organization from Afghanistan
stated that they contacted with buyer groups more than they had expected.
The company from Dubai gives an order of 12 million dollars
Asel Marble from Dubai visited the Natural Stone Fair and purchased a marble of
400 thousand m2. The company executives ordered Burdur and Bilecik beige from 5
separate Turkish companies adding that Dubai sheikhs will use the marble at
their villas.

Buyer groups at the fair were from Albania, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus,
Belgium, Brazil, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Egypt,
England, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Italy,
Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kirgizstan, Libya, Macedonia, Malaysia,
Moldova, Morocco, the Netherlands, Palestine, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Russian
Federation, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Syria, Turkish Republic of
Northern Cyprus, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, UAE and Ukraine.
The ninth of International Marble Natural Stone Products and Technologies Fair
will be held between 18th and 21st 2012.
